Shipping policy

ORDER PROCESSING

Please allow up to 3 business days for order processing. You will receive a confirmation email once your order has been dispatched or is ready for pickup.

Orders can be picked up daily between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. You will receive an email notification when your order is ready for collection.

SHIPPING INFORMATION

We currently ship throughout New Zealand only.

Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on the products in your order, shipping destination, and shipping method required.

Standard orders are generally shipped using NZ Post and typically arrive within 1–3 business days after dispatch, depending on your location.

FREE SHIPPING

We offer free shipping on eligible products for orders over $200 NZD.

Please note:

  • Free shipping applies only to eligible products.

  • Oversized and freight items are excluded from free shipping offers.

  • Eligibility is automatically calculated at checkout.

OVERSIZED PRODUCTS

Some heavier or bulky products may incur standard carrier shipping charges even when your order exceeds $200 NZD.

These products are excluded from free shipping promotions due to their size or weight.

FREIGHT & QUOTE-ONLY PRODUCTS

Certain large or heavy products require a custom freight quote.

For these products, checkout will display:

“Request a Quote”

After checkout, we will contact you with a freight shipping quote before processing your order.

RURAL DELIVERY

Additional charges or longer delivery times may apply to rural addresses.

SPLIT SHIPMENTS

Orders containing multiple product types may arrive separately. For example, standard products, oversized products, and freight items may ship independently.

REFUNDS, RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

We accept returns up to 30 days after delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original condition.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible at info@thechookbarn.co.nz with your order number and photos of the damage. We handle these situations on a case-by-case basis and will do our best to provide a satisfactory solution.

LIVE ANIMALS

Shipping of live animals is not available. Live animals are available for pickup only.

When collecting animals, please bring suitable transport boxes or crates. The safety and welfare of all animals is our priority, and safe transportation is essential.

Our checkout system will automatically prevent shipping options from being selected for live animal purchases.
